Philosophy Part 6 – Haters Hate Facts

Low Carb Hero’s Weight Loss Philosophy – Part 6

Low Carb Hero

Haters Hate Facts

One of the first obstacles you may encounter during your lifestyle change are the haters and the misguided “helpers”. As you become a low carb veteran over time this will become far less of a problem. In the meantime you may encounter great adversity from people all around you, often your own friends and family.

Just as these articles will be encouraging and influencing you to make positive changes, these people will be negatively influencing you by sewing seeds of doubt in your mind, insulting your food choices or generally making things difficult for you.

The best way to handle this is with knowledge, which is why I have complied a list of some of the most important low carb science facts for you to be confident within yourself and have the resources you need to publicly refute the nay sayers. Trust me, at some point or another you’ll likely find yourself in this situation so it’s best to be prepared.

Haters hate facts. When they get in your face with propaganda they’ve read in a second rate newspaper, fight back with these hate breaking talking points!

Q: Not eating any carbohydrates is insane!

A: Of course it is! That’s why I eat lots of complex carbs like fibre rich vegetables! I also eat controlled amounts of nuts, pulses and whole grains. It’s refined sugar that I primarily avoid. You should get your facts straight, “low carb” does not mean “no carb”!

Q: How can eating unlimited fats and bacon be good for you?

A: I don’t eat unlimited bacon or fat. Even though I can eat liberal amounts there is a balance to a low carb diet just like everything else!

Q: But high fat foods are bad for you and can cause heart disease and raise cholesterol?

A: Wrong. A February 2015 study in the British medical journal OpenHeart indicates that low fat guidelines should never have been introduced. It also suggests that saturated fat has been demonised and wrongly linked with a variety of health problems.

Furthermore, there have been a hundred studies which show that eating a diet higher in fat and lower in carbohydrates not only aids weight loss but improves other cardiovascular health factors too!

Q: Didn’t Dr Atkins die of a heart attack?

A: No, hospital records confirm he died as a result of a serious head injury he sustained during a fall on 8th April 2003.

Q: There’s no way you’re getting enough nutrients on this ‘fad diet’! You can’t even eat fruit!

A: Fruit is not excluded on a low carb diet. We just need to be careful about which ones we choose as many fruits have disproportionately high sugar content. We prefer moderate amounts of fruit such as strawberries, kiwis and melon.

Q: Just have one chip… What’s one chip going to do? Just have one beer, where’s the harm in one beer?

Do you offer crack addicts one more hit? Do you offer people trying to stop smoking another cigarette? Sugar addiction is just like that. So thanks, but no thanks!

Q: What the hell is Low Carb Hero?

A: Low Carb Hero is an awesome community that builds on top of the framework of successful low carb diets and adds a philosophical approach of treating obesity as an addiction rather than solving it with a temporary diet. It’s about changing the way we eat and think about food for the better. Now stop hating and go back to eating your sandwich!

Haters don’t really hate you, they hate themselves; because you’re a reflection of what they wish to be.
